Danielle Sobieski MS, RDN, CDN

Hello! I’m Danielle, founder of DS Nutrition and registered dietitian nutritionist. I hold a BS in Diagnostic Genetic Sciences and Dietetics from University of Connecticut, and a MS in Human Nutrition from University of New Haven in Connecticut.

Through my practice, I offer personalized, in-depth nutrition care that addresses clients’ physical, mental and emotional needs. My goal is to make nutrition care more accessible by exposing health biases, focusing on disease prevention, and building a multidisciplinary network of practitioners.

My approach to nutrition care is informed by my background: prior to pursuing a career in nutrition, I worked as a molecular technologist in diagnostic laboratories. I became fascinated with genetic disorders of metabolism and the relationship between diet, genes, and health.

Upon graduating with my second bachelor’s in dietetics and completing my dietetic internship, I worked as a registered dietitian in hospital and dialysis settings, consulting with patients of all ages on a range of health conditions. In a clinical setting, my work also expanded beyond nutrition therapy to include the initiation of a malnutrition program.

I consider my approach to be collaborative, trauma informed, and non-restrictive. My holistic approach to nutrition centers around these questions:

  • How can I positively impact people’s quality of life?

  • How can I help people feel better about themselves and the foods they eat?

  • How can I empower people with chronic diseases?

  • How can I push evidence-based nutrition to the forefront?

  • How can I help close the gap in nutrition care?

I currently reside in Brooklyn, New York with my husband, daughter, and dog, Cooper.
